When was the first time you held a video camera?:
I was probably in college. Our family wasn't big into any kind of camera.
Where are you?:
In a cafe in Santa Cruz, CA

people & family, books, nature, animals, China
Biography:
Grew up in Vermont and New Hampshire. College in California, then to China where I spent many years doing lots of different things, including getting a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology at UC Santa Cruz. Started as a researcher at the Institute for the Future in 2001.
